Scott manages our Shelburne Falls, MA office, located in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. He enjoys getting to know his clients through extensive personal discussions. Recognizing that no two clients are alike, he customizes the appropriate strategy for their situation and goals such that it can change as their situation changes or due to market dynamics. Scott favors a value-approach to investing, looking for stocks that appear undervalued or out-of-favor, but have good prospects based on his rigorous analysis. Scott likes to include fixed-income vehicles in the mix too, when appropriate.
Prior to joining the firm Scott worked in retail, owned real estate development and land management businesses, and worked several years as a power company control room operator. Through these ventures, Scott built a business skillset focused on financial issues, customer relations, tax planning, and sales.
Married for over 35 years to his beloved wife (and colleague) Ellen, Scott is an Eagle Scout and golf, poker, and fly-fishing enthusiast. Community service has always been a top priority. Over the years Scott has served as a Volunteer EMT, Fireman, Fire Chief, town municipal coordinator, civil defense director, on local high school and elementary school committees, a credit union board, Cub Scout leader, baseball coach, and Community 911 director. Though recently “retired” from maple sugaring, Scott maintains his involvement in the Purinton’s Chickley Alp Tree Farm.
