We offer two mutual funds to our clients, an all-cap fund that invests mainly in U.S. companies of any size with competitive advantages and enduring strengths, and a small-cap fund that primarily invests in U.S. companies with significant appreciation potential.
Wellington Shields All-Cap Mutual Fund (WSACX) has an objective of capital appreciation, investing in high-quality companies with above market growth potential. The fund invests across the capitalization spectrum but owns a core portfolio of large and mid-cap companies representing over 80% of the portfolio. While WSCMX does not have a current income objective, it targets businesses that produce free cash flow, giving flexibility to return cash to shareholders in the form of dividends and buybacks or to reinvest in their business. The fund maintains exposure to quality companies in the top nine sectors of the S&P 500.
Wellington Capital Management Small-Cap Mutual Fund’s (WSSSX) objective is to invest in small-capitalization stocks and limit downside exposure by focusing on reasonably valued, cash flowing companies. Long-term appreciation opportunities come from buying into a business before it is “discovered” and purchased by larger institutional investors. The fund focuses on companies less than $5 billion in market capitalization at the time of purchase. The fund is diversified and avoids having over 25% exposure to any one industry group.
